Amplified

Since 1995 American Crafts has been providing superior quality products for the crafting industry. It wasn't until 2001 that they began focusing their attention on the scrapbooking industry. Since that time American Crafts has brought innovative designs and quality to the art of scrapbooking. The new Amplified collection is no exception to this rule!

From the new Amplified collection by American Crafts, I was sent the following products to review:

  • Psychedelic - Spot Varnish; 12 x 12-inch cardstock
  • British Invasion; 12 x 12-inch cardstock
  • Details Amplified Color Set 3
  • Thickers Accents – Shamrock Metallic

Both sheets of cardstock had a pattern on one side with a coordinating solid on the reverse. This is a quality I look for in cardstock because it makes it much more versatile and provides more coordinating colors for me to work with. The colors in both patterns were rich and vibrant and the glossy brown swirls in the Psychedelic cardstock were not only pleasing to the eye but made it a fun pattern to touch and feel!

The swirls in the Psychedelic cardstock provided a lot of movement and I wanted to highlight that by hand cutting around them before layering it on my background paper. I love texture and dimension so when I saw the Details Amplified Color set I immediately fell in love. The mixture of materials and colors in these accent pieces were the perfect embellishment that I would need on my layout – in fact – I used the whole package! The Thickers Accents were just what was needed to add the finishing touches on this layout. They are backed with a strong adhesive but you need to be careful when removing the pieces from the backing sheet to not pull the chipboard from the adhesive. This stuff is really sticky!

Products used: Cardstock (Prism Prismatics, Suede Brown Dark and Iced Mint)
American Crafts Patterned Paper (Amplified Psychedelic and British Invasion)
Felt Flowers (American Crafts Details Amplified Color Set 3)
Chipboard Stickers (American Crafts Thicker Accents)

Stamp (Making Memories)
Ink (Staz-on)
Pen (Micron)
Adhesive (Adhesive Tech, Permanent Bond Glue Runner)

With an inviting striped pattern on one side and bright Fuchsia on the other, the British Invasion cardstock would be just the right patterns needed for this spring card. I stamped the flowers on white cardstock then framed them with a Thickers Accent piece. For a finishing touch I added stickles to the frame, cardstock and stamped image.
