Al Fresco

The Tinkering Ink Al Fresco collection is arrayed in the most beautiful colors that will inspire you to create fun, playful pages and projects! Known for their bold patterns, Tinkering Ink will also tone it down just a bit to give you coordinating patterns and colors on the reverse side of each sheet of patterned cardstock making this a versatile collection for all of your creative inspirations.

The bold patterns are often intimidating but can easily be tamed by hand cutting designs from the patterns and using them as embellishments or just allowing the pattern to frame a photo or object. Either way – the bold patterns are unique in design and a beautiful way to make a grand statement with your project. When a large bold pattern just won’t do, just flip the patterned cardstock over to reveal a smaller pattern version or a coordinating color. You will also find the same patterns and colors on the die cuts, alphabets, monograms, finery, glitter stickers, and rub-on’s.

With all of the beautiful pink, green, and red color combinations, at first you may think that the Al Fresco collection is only for girls, but as you look a little closer you will notice many combinations of blue, orange, red, and gold like in the Luna – Moon, Bria – Liveliness, and Terazza – Patio. Of course I did have the perfect picture of my son to use with this collection and I couldn’t wait to get started.

I used the Terazza – Patio as the base for my layout and I added a strip of Strisce – Stripes along with a strip of the smaller version of Grigette – Snails found on the Tab and Tag sheet. To finish my layout I used a couple of rub-on’s from the Transfers sheet along with a Monogram and letters from the Alphabet Die Cuts.

My favorite color combination is pink and green. Something about these two colors together just makes me happy. Of course when I saw Bella – Beautiful I immediately fell in love and my next project was well on its way to completion.

I started with a blank board book and covered the front and back covers with Bella – Beautiful. I embellished the cover by cutting a scalloped circle from the Trofiette – Pasta using my Wishblade and layered the Finery flower on top. To add just a little more interest I used a white pen to add stitching marks around the flower circle and along the scallop edge. For the inside pages I used several of the coordinating patterns and embellishment found in the Al Fresco collection to create a keepsake book for my friend. Can you believe that after I created these two projects I still had a lot of papers and embellishments left over? Well I did and I created all of these cards in less than 30 minutes! The Glitter Stickers make it amazingly simple and easy to create beautiful cards. Seven of the stickers found on this 5 x 9-inch sheet have simple sayings printed on to them to make creating a special greeting a snap! Of course, you don’t have to stop at greeting cards, you can also use these shimmering stickers on any project or layout.

Sweet Thank-You
