Last night the temps dropped into the 30's and that is cold for us for this time of year - at least I think so. My two tomato plants struggled all summer long and while we contemplated pulling them out of the ground we never did. Then sometime around the first of September these little plants blossemed and took over the front area! Byt the end of September they had gone completely wild and overflowed into the yard but with all of that came juicy ripe red tomaotes!!!
Once the tomatoes began to ripen their was no stopping them until last night. I do think the cold chill in the air last night has put a dent into my tomato crop.
As you can see, the leaves are withered despite the warm sunshine that is beating down on them.
On the up side of things - I guess I will pick all of those green tomatoes and make Mock Raspberry Jelly out of them! Look for that post coming in the near future!
Have a great day and try to stay warm!
