Moda Bella

The new Moda Bella collection from American Crafts is full of bright colors inspired by fashion and unique designs that is sure to bring fun and whimsy to all of your projects.

Each of the six 12 x 12 inch sheets of cardstock that I received for this review are double-sided with a pattern on one side and a coordinating solid on the reverse. While there are a total of 24 patterns in the Moda Bella collection to choose from, I was sent Dazzling, Bold, Vintage, Adventurous, Au Naturel, and Upbeat patterns to work with. I also received a mixture of coordinating embellishments. The Fashion Flair Posh adhesive badges are about the size of a nickel and remind you of a small button badge. These 8 badges can be adhered easily to your project with their self-adhesive backing. The Details Fashion Tiffany is a set of 6 dimensional embellishments that resemble tiny works of art created from an eclectic mix of materials. The Details are the perfect finishing touch for any of your projects. Remarks are clear-back accent stickers that are stylish and up-to-date. The Remarks Chloe White stickers provide a classic script font that compliments the Moda Bella collection. Along with some great fonts they also carry Fashion Accents 2 Multi color clear-back accent stickers which work perfectly to provide accents without the look of a sticker. Thickers provide over 30 varieties of fonts and accents in many colors to choose from and the Vinyl Vera Sunflower Thickers are just one of these.

After a recent trip with friends, I have been eager to find the perfect papers to convey the mood of the photos. When I saw the Moda Bella collection from American Crafts, I knew I had found the perfect products for these pictures. Because the Remarks Fashion Accents 2 stickers are clear-backed it made it easy to layer so that the stickers blended together to create the look of one embellishment. The Posh Badge was just what was needed to create the center for this accent. I also found that the Vinyl Vera Sunflower Thickers matched perfectly with the colors in the Moda Bella collection and were just the right size for making a title for my layout.

As the holidays are fast approaching, I am always looking for creative ways to package gifts and when I saw the Au Naturel pattern, I just had to try it out. The patterned cardstock was the perfect weight to work with. While it would bend and conform to the pattern it was still thick enough to hold it’s shape. I also enjoyed the fact that the cardstock was double-sided so it provided a finished look to the inside of the project as well as the outside. The Details are probably my favorite embellishment of all because they resemble tiny works of art that are just begging to be displayed. These tiny embellishments finished the project and tied it all together nicely.

My neighbor saved these cute little Frappuccino bottles knowing that one day I would make something really cute out of them. With all of the bright colors in the Moda Bella collection, I just had to create something using these bottles. I began by redesigning the carrier that these bottles came in. I quickly discovered that it would take almost an entire sheet of cardstock to complete only one half of the carrier. After much thought, I decided that the Bold and Dazzling pattern papers coordinated very well together and decided to create the box using both of these papers. I then used left over strips from the patterns to embellish the bottles and adhered a Badge to the center of each bottle cap. The Remarks Chloe font stickers worked very nicely for the message on the container and because I love the Details so much, I used a portion of one of these embellishments to add an accent to the front of my container. The only thing left to do is to fill these cute jars with hot cocoa and candies for a special someone.
