Welcome To Jack's World!

Welcome to Jack’s World – a fun place to let your imagination and creativity flow! This collection from Cosmo Cricket is packed with really cool designs, color schemes, and patterns that are sure to make you feel like a kid again.

The Jack’s World Crafting Kit from Cosmo Cricket contains 16 12 x 12 inch papers.

  • 12 Double Sided Design Papers
  • Adhesive Die Cuts
  • Journal Cards
  • Strip Tease
  • and, a Design Studio sheet found on the reverse side of the Cover sheet

The designs and patterns in this collection are very retro and the colors are not your typical primary colors. Instead you will find distressed shades of primary colors and patterns which gives this collection more versatility when choosing the projects you wish to create with this kit.

To start off my first project I used the reverse side of the Playtime paper. Since you receive two sheets of each pattern in this kit, it was easy to turn this project into a 2-page layout. I used the sunny side of Wake Up for a border across both pages and used the reverse side of Blankey for a border across the top and bottom of Wake Up. I then used the reverse side of Wake Up for a torn vertical border down the middle of both pages. The Adhesive Die Cuts were wonderful to work with because all I had to do was just "peel and stick" and my layout came to life. Once the pictures and embellishments were all in place, I cut a very appropriate verse from the Journal Cards page for my journaling. Lastly I added my title and a little pen work around the Adhesive Die Cuts to make them stand out against the background patterns.

The Journal Cards were the perfect size for the top of this wooden gift card box making this a quick and simple project to complete. I added a piece of Animal Friends to the inside cover and then used the reverse side for the bottom of the box. I also added a little extra distress with some ink and embossed the message on this inside of the box. This made a cute Gift Card holder for the baby shower I would attend the next day.

I’ve been hearing a lot of talk about “Swedish Collage” and thought that the Jack’s World Crafting Kit would be perfect for this technique. Since the colors and patterns worked so well together I gave it a try with this card. The base of the card uses Big Sister and then a circle from the reverse side of Lessons was sewn to the card base. Strips of Blankey and Wake Up were used along with circles cut from the reverse side of Wake Up. I added a couple of stamped images along with images from the Adhesive Die Cut sheet to the front of the card. Using a white pen, I added some doodling to the card along with some buttons and my card was complete. The colors and patterns mixed very well with each other and gave me a fun and imaginative card.

At first I was concerned that the designs and colors were going to be too “young” for the photographs that I would be using. Once I got started I realized that the patterns would work for any age or theme. I couldn’t get over how well all of the colors and patterns in this kit blended together and provided a non-age or gender specific layout. It is not surprising that Cosmo Cricket has provided another winning product for the paper crafting industry!
