First, I just have to toot my own horn for a moment. A couple of my projects are featured on the Flair Blog. You need to go check them out. Of course don't forget to come back here and finish looking at all of the pictures I posted. ;)
This past weekend was terribly rainy - so much so that we literally couldn't get out of the driveway to go to church on Sunday.
Once the rain stopped we decided to head down to the creek at the back of our property. The creek normally doesn't hold much water and the majority of summer it is dry. After a good rain their is usually quite a bit of water for several days so I took my camera along although Mickey thought I was going to fall and drop it in the water. I think he was more concerned about me ruining my camera than me getting hurt if I fell!
Everything always looks so green right after a rain and I love how all of these photos came out. I took a bunch more but I didn't want to bore you with all of them.
I love this picture. It looks like the big tree has its arms(roots) around the little tree.
This is looking back at where we enter the creek from our property.
Chip loves running and splashing in the water. We could tell he missed Cookie being with him to play in the creek. This will be his first summer without his mate.
Chip is a pretty smart dog. We throw rock into the creek and then he fetches them out only this time he lost the rock and couldn't find it. He kept looking until we told him to stop.
We are hundreds of miles from the ocean yet we find a multitude of fossils down here
Apparently the raccoons have been playing in the water as wellAs we walked down the creek it got pretty deep. It is almost to the top of Justin's rubber boots.
One of the trees had fallen across the creek so it made this little archway that we had to walk under.
Just thought this was a cool picture of the water flowing over the rocks
This is across from where we enter the creek. Justin is sitting on the ledge. To me it looks like he is way up high but he really isn't because the creek bed is right below the bottom edge of the picture.
Thanks for taking walk down the creek with me......
