...when it is growing in your own backyard! Since we moved here 3 years ago, we have not had grass in our backyard. We have had a few weeds sprinkled around, but no grass. The first year we were here, we threw out grass seed and it started to rain it didn't stop for weeks! We had a flood that year and roads, bridges, and dams were under water. So, last year, we threw out some more, and it began to rain and washed it all away. We did this several times throughout the year, and each and every time, it rained! It got to be rather humorous. This year, we put out grass seed and the same thing happened - more rain! We decided to put out sod but our neighbors begged us not too because they thought for sure we would end up having a hurricane! After much debate over the sod issue, Mickey decided that he would try grass one more time. We put out a small patch of grass seed and nothing happened, except rain. After about a month it finally began to sprout up so this gave us encouragment. Mickey and Justin took the tiller and tilled up the entire backyard area and they put out cheap, generic grass seed. The weather forecast showed no rain for at least 10 days. Two days after they put out the grass seed, it rained! LOL Two days after that, we had grass springing up all over!!! Yeah!!!
Two weeks have gone by and this is what we have....
It isn't completely covering the ground but this is the most we have ever had!I'm looking forward to the day we can move our lawn furniture out on this grassy area. The next project will be building a patio. Seems kinda silly to get grass growing then tear it up by putting in a patio, but who knows how long it will be before we get a patio. In the meantime, I am just going to enjoy sitting around watching my grass grow!
