Memento Inks from Tsukineko

Memento from Tsukineko produces 24 high quality dye ink colors that are not only fast drying, but also fade resistant.

The Memento Tuxedo Black came packaged in a traditional design 2 x 3 inch raised ink pad that provided excellent coverage for my stamps. The Meadowland Memento Dew Drops were packed in a set of four 1 x 1.5 inch teardrop shaped raised ink pads. Since the Dew Drops are rounded on one end and have an elongated tip on the other, they are free standing. The narrow end allows you to ink small corners and small details. This wonderful dye ink also comes in dual-tip markers of which I received the Beach Party collection. The sets come with 4 markers that have a brush tip on one end for coloring large areas and a fine tip on the other for journaling and small details.

The Meadowland Memento Dew Drop collection is full of rich fall tones; Potters Clay, Rhubarb Stalk, Tangelo, and Bamboo Leaves. Because of the shape of the Dew Drop ink pads, it was easy to layer multiple colors of ink onto one stamp, and that is what I did to create the pattern on the cork diamonds. I continued to add the same colors and patterns directly to the cardstock before layering my photo and mat onto the cardstock. To add some contrast to the cork diamond shapes, I edged each one with Bamboo Leaves before adhering to my cardstock. With a minimal amount of effort I had a layout that was personalized and unique by using the Memento Dew Drop dye inks.

The Beach Party Dual-Tip markers were definitely created for the bright and fun projects! Bahama Blue, Dandelion, Pear Tart, and Rose Bud are anything but dull which is why I created this happy card. While the Memento Tuxedo Black is a dye ink and normally would not be a good choice to use with embossing powders, I found that it stayed wet just long enough for me to work quickly and emboss the four square frames on my card. I then used the brush tip end of the markers to color my stamps. After using the Pear Tart, which is a very light yellow-green color, I used the narrow end of the Bamboo Leaves Dew Drop to add just enough contrast around the edges of the leaves before stamping them onto my card. Once all of the flowers and leaves were stamped, I layered my image onto cardstock, added a bow, and now I have a very bright, cheerful card for any happy occasion.
