Is There a Doctor in the House?

Every since Justin was a young boy, he wanted to do something with animals. He would quickly tell you that he was going to be a vet when he grew up, but how many little ones make that comment? All they know is that they like animals and want to play with them all day - sounds like a fun job to me. (lol)

Their is a lot more that goes into being a vet than just giving routine shots and playing with these animals - and Justin has been finding this out. The more he has volunteered at our local vet clinic the more he realizes that this is a field that he wants to make a life long career.

On September 1st Justin took his test to become a Certified Veterinary Assistant. The next few weeks he would have to wait to get his test results to see if he passed. On September 22nd, Justin was given his certificate from the Texas Veterinary Medical Association.

Justin & Dr. Garner of Tri-County Animal Hospital

Justin can now sign his name with the initials, CVA1 behind it. It may not be DVM, but he has taken the first step!

And if that wasn't enough to make his day, Dr. Garner offered him a part-time job making pretty good money for a 17 year old's first job!

When I was 17 years old, I was not afforded such golden opportunities. I just hope Justin realizes how lucky he is to be presented with such wonderful career opportunities at such a young age - I think he does ;)
