Remember yesterday I showed you my new Daybreak Flatware that I received from CSN stores?
I have looked for quite some time for just the right holder for my flatware. You see, I really don’t like to keep my flatware in a drawer, I prefer it right there on the table so it is readily available. I think this habit started several years back when we used to have lots of families come to our home for Sunday dinners. It just made it easier to have it in a basket and everyone could grab what they needed, especially since I always served “buffet style”.
This spring I was at Hobby Lobby and I found this plant holder in the garden section and a light bulb went off – it would be perfect to hold my flatware – and – it was 50% off! SCORE! I scooped it up and brought it home – yes, I paid for it before I left the store lol. I debated on whether or not to put clay pots in the holders like was intended or use the mason jars. Since I already had the mason jars on hand, I opted fro them. I added cork to the bottom of my jars (speaking from experience here) so that the bottom of the jars did not break from repeatedly dropping the flatware back in the jars once they were washed. It is also very easy to wash just wash out the jars when they get dusty and if I ever get tired of it, I’ll just stick some plants in there! ☺
I totally love this my new flatware holder and think it is the perfect place to keep my new Daybreak flatware from Pfaltzgraff!
