amongst other things…. and this is where the story begins.
working on the P K Glitz blog
My day typically starts at 6:30 a.m. and by 8:00 a.m. I have gotten dressed; read my Bible; completed my Devotion; and eaten breakfast.
At the start of my day I usually check blogs; read through emails; and respond as necessary.
After that I will begin making phone calls, working on sample packets, or whatever else that may be needed – and about this time is when ADD starts to knock on my office door…..
It will usually start with things like
- the dogs need to be let out and instead of just going out and doing their business they decide it is a pretty day and take off towards the creek; meaning I need to chase after them. Then I realize it is a pretty day and take my time walking back to the house. Why do I do this? Because I am a Work at Home Mom.
- the phone rings and my husband asks me to look something up on the internet or make a phone call for him which reminds me I had been wanting to look up the latest sales at Hobby Lobby or possibly I needed to call a friend about a recipe or something. Why do I do this? Because I am a Work at Home Mom.
- Or maybe my husband takes the day off and….
It is such a beautiful day, and those calls will wait, right?
This is so much fun (wasn’t their something else I was suppose to be doing?)
I hope I remember where the brake is!
Just as I start to have lots of fun I remember what I am suppose to be doing.I guess I will get back to work. Besides, I only took a 30 minute break, right? It might have been longer because now I realize it is lunch time….
After lunch I get back on track and the day is going smoothly, even though the sound of the chirping birds is quite distracting and seems to be calling for me to come back outside. Focus – focus – focus…..
Oh no, I have now run out of cardstock so I can make my store samples. I need to make a note…. WAIT… isn’t their an app that I can download to help me keep track of my lists?
Aaahhh, now I can be more efficient with my new grocery store app. Yes, it took me 2 hours to find the “perfect one” but it will be worth it, right?
What??? Time to fix dinner? Where did the day go?
And so now you know what I have been doing and how my days go when ADD comes knocking on this Work at Home Mom’s door.
I really wish she would find someone else to pester for awhile. I guess I better get back to…. is someone knocking on the door? Oh, it’s just my husband on the 4-wheeler again….
Did someone say 4-wheeler???
