A couple of months ago, Michele at The Scrap Shoppe wrote an article about a website called Pinterest. I thought it was a typo at first until I read her article – I was blown away and I had to figure how to set up an account right away!
What is this thing called “PInterest”? The only way I know how to describe it is its a really cool way to visually bookmark all of the great ideas a person finds while browsing through blogs and websites. In other words, it is a life saver. You wouldn’t believe how I was bookmarking and saving articles all over the place hoping that I wouldn’t lose them one day.
After a couple of months of pinning this is what part of my Pinterest boards look like.
Pinterest is the perfect place to look for inspiration and let me show you why…
If I click on my “Floral” board it brings up everything I have pinned in that category.
Once I have found a project that inspires me I can get a closer look by clicking on the picture. I can also click on the link in the upper right hand corner to take me back to the original post where I found it if I need further instructions!
So, what if I am not inspired by anything that I have pinned on my own boards? I can do a search or I can look at some of my friend’s boards! Yes, Pinterest allows you to follow your friends.
This is just a small sample of what was brought up when I clicked on those that I follow.
I am sure that you can see that if you are looking for inspiration, Pinterest should be your first stop on the internet. The great thing about it is that you don’t even need to have an account if you just want to browse. But why wouldn’t you want an account? It’s free and it is fabulous!
If you want to set up an account and start pinning all of the great things you find, you will need an invitation (this program is still in beta). All we need is your email address and we will get it sent to you.
