Wow! It seems like forever since I have been here, but I think... well, I hope.... okay, let's just keep a positive attitude about this and say, "I am back!"
I also have some exciting news about my Mother's Day (I realize that it was several weeks ago and Father's Day is on the horizon; just humor me, okay? lol) I'm not going to share my news in this post, but I just wanted to let you know that I have an announcement that I will be sharing in the very near future.
But today, I want to show you my Bendi Card.
When a child passes away, it doesn't matter if they are 8 days old or 8 years old, it not only effects the parents, but the entire family. The only way I know to heal a broken heart is to trust in God, but it helps when friends gather around to show their love and share in the sorrow.I am reminded of an old song that says, "I never promised you a rose garden, there's gotta be a little rain sometime". Let's just say that this was one of those "downpours".
Our pastor and his wife were the great-grandparents to Alexa and I wanted to create more than just a handmade card; I wanted a keepsake. I chose the Sloped Bendy Card and Bendy Stationary Box file from Samantha Walker as my starting point for this gift. I added some flowers and butterflies along the edge of the card and a label with a quote on the inside.
The hardest part of making this keepsake card, was the emotional side, otherwise, this was a super easy project. The designers in the Silhouette store do the "hard part" by making fantastic cutting files to work with which gives me more time to be creative!
Visit the Samantha Walker blog for more details on how to create this card along with information on how you can purchase the files I used.
